I was out today with my dad in a couple of places around Kildare. He said he wanted to keep the places secret so people wouldn't come along and ruin them, and I can't blame him. Though they are protected places, and provisions have been made to enable access for people, there are still signs about the place of the negative impact left by those who abuse their surroundings. Litter. Fishing gear just strewn across the place. Anyway, I've uploaded a few photos, mostly of various insects. I saw some other bits and pieces - like a vivid, almost metallic blue-green Damselfly, and lots of little frogs, but they were too quick for me to capture. Some of these shots are a bit rough around the edges but that's the nature of wildlife photography I suppose! I'm finding my camera is beginning to slow me down a little bit this weather too. I wish I had some money because it's not the only piece of technology I could do with upgrading - I recently lost a lot of information (including graphic design & photography RAW files) due to the hard-disk on my laptop buying the farm. And my iPhone is also having a lot of trouble keeping away from the light. It's been fairly kiboshed now for about a year but since the iOS 4 update, which is excellent otherwise, the speed of the thing is approaching impossible to manage. So if anyone has vast wads of cash lying about they don't know what to do with, I can easily forward you my address!
